ya know, that's amazing. i was never really that much of a fan of embroidery but this is beautiful, i love the colors. and just the spirals its all just awesome! keep up the great work! and congratualtions on your very well deserved DD
thank you! I didn't even know what a DD was until this morning lol I had to google it so I wouldn't have to ask some of you lovely commentors and look silly I really appreciate everyone's comments! I do lots of embroidery, but I'm also an illustrator--just trying to make a living doing what I love, and DA has become a pretty handy way to get feedback! So thank you!
Ohhh "art block" ... I was having a huge one not too long ago, and I changed mediums, I went from making vector artworks to do photomanipulations, at least a couple of them, and it helped me ... I even named the pieces "Art block" because I felt just like those pieces look all run down and even sad about it ... so maybe sometimes a little change in the tools you use to make your artworks can help a lot
Lol, yeah, sometimes (for me anyway) the best thing to do is to just stop trying to paint or draw, or write, even, and not do anything related to whatever's stumping me. Then, usually, even if it's a month down the road, inspiration will hit and I'll have the motivation to keep going. A big part of my issues also come from going to art school, being totally absorbed by the serious art world, and then having to quit (financial reasons)--which was kind of like being ripped from my home lol. so I've always got this voice in the back of my mind saying: "How is this work meaningful? What are you doing with this? Is the art world going to benefit from this?"
Thank you! I didn't use a pattern--I just started sewing! It was an exploration of how color plays together with thread as with paint, and how different and similar that color play is between the two mediums.
